Just read this on CNN and was kind of taken aback by it: Dave Matthews Band saxophonist dies.
A couple of us were just up in the Milwaukee area checking out Dave and company at Alpine Valley for a weekend set. LeRoi was not traveling with the band due to injuries he sustained due to an ATV accident earlier in the summer (Rashawn Ross and Jeff Coffin were taking LeRoi’s place and playing up to the standard he set long ago). I am no expert in the saxophone, or any instrument for that matter, but LeRoi Moore was as much a staple to that band and that community of fans as anyone.
He died of complications stemming from the aforementioned accident.
He was 47. This just kinda sucks. I know its for naught, but our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
You always knew right before “The Stone” would play.
